What is Click & Collect?
Click & Collect enables current library members to request books to be retrieved from the Moore Library’s collections.
Your requests will be waiting at the Service Desk on the ground floor.
We hope this service will allow you to access the books you need as quickly and safely as possible.
Who is eligible to use Click & Collect?
The service is available to all Moore library users who have a patron account on Alma, the library management system. If there is an issue with your account, library staff will contact you to advise.
How does the service work?
- Start by searching iDiscover for the item you need, perhaps limiting by library, to ensure you’re focusing on books held in the Moore Library. There’s help on using iDiscover here.
- Once you’ve identified the book you want, submit your request using the following link:
Use this form to submit Click & Collect Request
(opens in new window)
- The form lets you request up to 5 books at a time.
- Library staff will contact you by email to confirm when your books are ready to collect, or if there is a problem with your request.
How soon can I collect my books after submitting my request?
You must have had a confirmation email from the Library that the items you have ordered are ready for collection. Collection is between:
09:00 - 20:45 Monday to Friday Term time
09:00 - 16:45 Vacation time
09:00 - 12:45 All Saturdays we are open (requests made after 17:00 on a Friday will not be processed until Monday morning)
Please bring your University card or other ID with your name and photo on. If you are asking someone to collect your books on your behalf, please ask them to bring your order confirmation email – either printed out or as an email.
Books will be available to collect for 5 working days, after which they will be put back into circulation for others to borrow.
We will process all incoming requests Monday to Friday. Requests received after staffed hours on Friday will be processed on Monday - we will not be processing new requests on Saturday though you are still able to collect items requested during the week.
Can I collect books on behalf of someone else?
Yes. The form allows you to name someone who will be collecting the books.
Can I return books at the same time?
Please note – you can only borrow 5 books at any one time, so Yes! you can return books at the same time as collecting. If you have already reached your borrowing limit staff will notify you in advance of your visit that books will need to be returned before new books can be issued. We will then do this during the visit so don’t return books to the drop box when you arrive but bring them in with you and we will do the whole process while you wait.
Can I borrow books from other libraries?
University Library is running a Click & Collect service, and some other faculty and departmental libraries will be too, as they open up their services. You will need to be registered as a member of any other library that you wish to borrow books from, and go to that library to access the books.
Check the individual library webpages for details.
Can I request that books from other libraries are delivered to the Moore Library?
