Recommending items for purchase
Journals
The Moore Library does not subscribe to journals independently. If you would like to recommend a journal to the Journal Co-ordination Scheme, please use this e-resources form.
Books
Registered University of Cambridge readers are welcome to recommend books for purchase by the Moore Library. Please provide all the information requested in the form below so that we are able to process your recommendation.
You might like to take into consideration the following points before submitting a recommendation for purchase:
- We will attempt to buy out-of-print books but readers should be aware that this can take longer as it is not such a straightforward process.
- We will buy extra copies of books on reading lists if we are aware that our existing copies are in high demand.
- We are part of Cambridge University Library, and so generally don't buy buy copies of books already held at the UL as a rule but are happy to look at such requests on a case by case basis, depending on the status/availability of the UL copy.
- We will only buy books on subjects falling within our collection development policy.
- There may be a delay in ordering books recommended between late July and the end of August each year, due to the switchover from one University financial year to the next and staff annual leave. If possible, please make any urgent recommendations for summer reading before the end of June.
If you have any questions, please either send an email to moore-acquisitions@lib.cam.ac.uk or telephone 01223 (7)68220.
