From December 23rd through to January 9th, our existing library management system will undergo an upgrade. Our previous circulation system is fifteen years old and needs to be updated before it becomes obsolete. This will entail a period of downtime while data from the old system is transferred to the new system. While the circulation system is unavailable, it will be possible to:
- Borrow books in person
- Return books in person
- Renew books in person
- Access electronic resources
- Register new readers manually
It will not be possible to:
- Recall books
- Send courtesy or overdue emails or letter
- Renew books online
- Pay fines
- View the items on loan to your records
Newton, our traditional library catalogue interface, will no longer be available from the end of December 2017 as the majority of Cambridge libraries move to the new system for all library operations.
Millions of resources will still be at your finger-tips via iDiscover: idiscover.lib.cam.ac.uk
