At the age of 14, Ben Edwards, the Wicked Weather Watch youth ambassador, became the youngest person to circumnavigate the North Pole anticlockwise in one season. This forthcoming Cambridge Festival of Ideas season gives you the chance to hear about his adventures as he went “Sailing Into Extremes”!

Two years ago, together with his Polar Ocean Challenge team colleagues, Ben sailed the North East and North West Passages to highlight the impact of global warming and the extraordinary loss of sea ice.
In August this year, Ben received the Prime Minister's Points of Light award. WWW Founder Sir David Hempleman-Adams had this to say of his achievement: “At just 14 years of age, Ben is the youngest person to circumnavigate the Arctic Ocean, something that has only become possible in his short lifetime. I’m delighted he’s continuing to raise awareness of climate change with Wicked Weather Watch as his generation will bear the brunt of it’s impact, and won this prestigious award for his hard work.”
